the tool handles the copying of files to the correct folders and then remove them again at the end users command.Ī perfect tool for this is "The Generic Mod Enabler" by JoneSoft and you can download it absolutely free of charge from the official homepage. My Small Maps Mod for Close Combat: Gateway to Caen.First of, what is a MOD enabler? A MOD enabler is a tool for enabling and disabling mods, i.e. I'll host it on my site too (once it's back up. For those reasons I'm going to stick with JSGME. That's what I'm thinking too, and it's really simple to use, plus I can ship it ready to go. Posted: Wed 8:40 pm Post subject: Re: Config and Plugin Files for GWTC With JSGME you also get the added bonus of being able to install/uninstall other mods with it too. Posted: Wed 2:08 pm Post subject: Re: Config and Plugin Files for GWTC I'm thinking JSGME is easier, as I can bundle it with the mod already prepared and all a player needs to do is unzip all the files into the main GWTC folder and you're done. There's no option for PITF or GWTC so each player would have to redirect their copy to the correct folder on their own, since there's two versions of GWTC (Steam and non-steam). Ok this is a little more complicated than with JSGME. Posted: Wed 10:40 am Post subject: Re: Config and Plugin Files for GWTC No TIK.you generate a plugin type okinawa or berlin. You can generate a new plugin with bren novak tool for create plugins for WAR,TLD and LSA.Īfter while install the plugin you must redirect the installation to gateway to caen files Posted: Tue 8:10 pm Post subject: Re: Config and Plugin Files for GWTC Posted: Tue 6:17 pm Post subject: Re: Config and Plugin Files for GWTC Oh and JSGME backs up any files it needs to overwrite so it's completely safe, it's been used for years in multiple games. So it should look like this MODS/TIK's Small Maps Mod/MAPS/įire up JSGME and you should see your mod listed on the left. Then just copy your modded MAPS folder inside that newly created folder. Easy solution would be to use JSGME (JoneSoftGenericModEnabler), which was originally made for Silent Hunter III, but it works for anything if it's files that need to be replaced.Įxtract the contents of the JSGME folder to your CC Caen folder and make a new folder inside the MODS folder and name it whatever you want to call your mod. Is there, or can someone create or show me how to create, a config file and plugin files like we have for the other CC games? I've no idea where to begin with this sort of thing so any and all help would be appreciated. I've finished the maps for my GWTC "Small Maps Mod" but atm I have to manually replace the files to make the mod work, and keep backups to revert back to the normal maps.
